2018 Holiday Kindness Challenge

Love and St. Valentine concept.Earlier this year, I volunteered for a kindness challenge with the Human Kindness Project, which encouraged students and teachers from schools across Canada to perform acts of kindness throughout Kindness Week. This could be anything from complimenting a friend, to buying someone their morning coffee, to volunteering at a soup kitchen or spending time at a nursing home.

I loved the idea so much, I wanted to keep it going beyond the boundaries of the one-week challenge. So now I use “be kind” as my mantra, and I try to do and give a little bit extra whenever I can. For example, last week when I got my hair highlighted, I gave an extra $10 on top of my regular tip, just because. And this week when I was in line at the grocery store, I let someone else go in front of me who only had a few items…
